Product introduction: The combined process of hammer vibration crushing, vibration screening, and airflow sorting can achieve the resource utilization of metal copper and carbon powder in waste lithium battery materials.
Scrap lithium batteries are fed into a shredder by a conveyor for shredding. The shredded material is then sent to a two-stage multi blade crusher for crushing. The material after secondary crushing enters the conveyor and is equipped with magnetic separation equipment to separate the iron in the material. The sorted materials are transported by a conveyor to an air flow separator, where the diaphragm paper in the positive and negative electrodes is separated by an induced draft fan and a cyclone feeder. The sorted positive and negative electrodes are then fed into a three-stage crusher for fine crushing, crushing the materials to around 20 mesh. The crushed material enters the cyclone separator through a negative pressure system for dust filtration, and is separated by two airflow streams to separate substances of different densities. Then, the positive and negative electrode materials are mixed with materials such as copper, aluminum, and nickel, while all ultrafine dust is collected in the pulse dust collector through the negative pressure system. The filtered exhaust gas will continue to be sent by the negative pressure system to the exhaust treatment equipment for air purification, to meet the standards before being discharged at high altitude.
Cobalt, lithium, copper, and plastics in waste lithium batteries are valuable resources with high recycling value. Therefore, scientific and effective treatment and disposal of waste lithium batteries not only have significant environmental benefits, but also have good economic benefits. Lithium batteries mainly consist of a casing, positive electrode, negative electrode, electrolyte, and separator. The positive electrode is composed of lithium cobalt oxide powder coated on both sides of the aluminum foil collector through PVDF that acts as a bonding agent; The negative electrode structure is similar to the positive electrode, consisting of carbon powder bonded to both sides of the copper foil current collector. At present, research on the resource utilization of waste lithium batteries mainly focuses on the recovery of valuable positive electrode metals such as cobalt and lithium. Copper (with a content of about 35%) in the negative electrode of waste lithium batteries is a widely used important supply material. Carbon powder adhered to it can be used as an additive for plastics, rubber, and other materials. Therefore, effective separation of the composition materials of the negative electrode of waste lithium batteries plays a promoting role in maximizing the resource utilization of waste lithium batteries and eliminating their corresponding environmental impacts. The commonly used methods for recycling waste lithium batteries include hydrometallurgy, pyrometallurgy, and mechanical physical methods. Compared to wet and pyrometallurgical methods, mechanical physical methods do not require the use of chemical reagents and have lower energy consumption, making them an environmentally friendly method.
